Forgiveness is One of God's Greatest Gifts

A lot of the times when I mess up forgiveness isn't the first thing I run to.

I try to fix it.

I try to make up for it.

Or I shut down—blame myself, blame someone else, or push it all down and pretend I’m fine.

But the guilt lingers.

The ache of not being enough.

The sting of disappointing someone.

The pressure to prove something—to someone. Even to God.

And then I remember the gospel.

Jesus already mended what I’m trying to put back together.

He took the blame I want to assign.

He absorbed the shame I want to bury.

He paid for the very thing I’m trying to earn back with performance.

While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

That means I don’t have to punish myself—or anyone else.

It is finished.

Forgiveness is not a reward for trying hard.

It’s a gift. Freely given. Immediately available.

And when I receive it, I breathe again.

I stop performing.

I stop hiding.

And I remember who I am:

Forgiven. Covered. Free. God's daughter.

That’s the power of Jesus in the everyday.

Not just to cleanse, but to restore.

Not just to save, but to set free.

And I need it every single day.
