Your Worth in Him

No one can ever give it to you.
Sometimes it feels like people can take it away,
Or they surely might try.
But it’s not theirs to give or theirs to take.
If they try to carry it for you,
It will bruise them and scar you.
You want them to give it to you and prove it to you,
But they can’t.
No depth or breadth of words will ever be enough
To fill the never-ending hole inside you.
It feels good for a while and then fades away,
Signaling to your heart to try to get it back.
The heart is desperate.
It wants it badly.
It will do anything—anything—to get it.
But it was never theirs to give.
Your Worth.
It can’t be given by those who do not fully comprehend
The value of your beautiful life because they did not create it.
It cannot be given by someone who doesn’t know the depths of your soul.
It cannot be given by someone who does not know every hair on your head
And every tear you have shed.
It can only be given by your Creator who knows you better than you know yourself.
It can only be given by the One who made you.
The One who made no one else even similar to you.
The One who loves you without conditions.
The One who gives His love freely.
The One who proved it by dying for you
While you were still choosing other things over Him.
The One who wants you to feel the immeasurable delight He has in you.For you are worth it.
You are worth the price of His Son’s life.
For that makes you worthy.
Nothing you do, know, or say can take it from you.
God says you are worth it, and that is it.
In stone, unchangeable, forever.
YOU ARE WORTHY.
For your worth is in our never-changing, loving God.
Grace in Focus: The world is relentless in its demands, constantly telling us that our worth is something we must earn. That it’s measured by success, approval, beauty, or status. That if we just achieve more, look better, or serve more, then maybe—we’ll finally be enough. But the gospel tells a different story. Your worth was never something to achieve—it was something given. Sealed forever in the sacrifice of Jesus. God proved your worth when He sent His Son to die for you—not when you were at your best, but while you were still a sinner. (Romans 5:8) And in the moments when you feel unseen, when the weight of expectations is too heavy, Jesus whispers: “I made you in love—on purpose.” “You are my masterpiece, not a mistake.” (Ephesians 2:10 NIV) “I delight in you—just as you are.” Your worth is not in your performance. Not in people’s approval. Not in anything this world can give or take away. Your worth is rooted in the unchanging love of your Creator. So today, let His whisper drown out the lies. You are seen. You are loved. You are enough—because you are His.
A Moment With God: Lord, thank You for reminding me that my worth is found in You alone. Thank You for the gospel, which declares my value is sealed by the sacrifice of Jesus. Help me to reject the world’s false measures of worth and rest in the truth of Your love and grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Your Heart’s Response: Write down areas where you’ve sought to find your worth outside of God. Take time to reflect on scripture, like Psalm 139:14 or Romans 5:8, that reminds you of your identity in Christ and proclaim your worth to yourself in Jesus name.
Pause & Ponder:
Where have you been searching for your worth, and how has it impacted your heart?
How does knowing your worth is secured in Christ change your everyday life?
What is one step you can take today to rest and truly walk in the truth of your God-given value?
